I grew up as an avid Top Of The Pops viewer. I'd tune in every week. I even taped the top 40 regularly on an old tape machine. I never knew what to make of Kate Bush as a child, she just seemed odd - but she always mesmerised me with her balletic dancing, high pitched singing and frequently bizarre lyrics. In my mid-20's I dipped into her back catalogue and loved loads of it. Sometimes it all gets a bit much but more often than not I find myself falsetto-ing along like an ageing choirboy and buzzing off the unique eccentrincity of it all. With the portrait I wanted to keep things bold and simple - almost like a screen print of an album cover - that's the general jist anyway.
