I've loved The Beastie Boys ever since their debut album, Licensed To Ill came out in 1986 and awoke the inner hip hop brat in me aged 11. I approached this portrait like it was a t-shirt design and wanted to create an almost totem pole-esque montage of the three rap icons, Ad Rock, Mike D and MCA. It's one of my sister Bea's favourites and I'm still toying with the idea of turning it into a t-shirt at some point.
